Alltel, AT&T donate free phone cards for troopsAlltel and AT&T have launched the “Minutes for the Military” campaign in seven recently acquired markets that will provide free phone cards to military personnel serving overseas this holiday season.
For every eligible Alltel customer who completes the handset selection process to get a new phone from AT&T through Nov. 22, a phone card providing military members with 20 minutes of free talk time from Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait will be donated.
Alltel and AT&T have teamed with Operation Gratitude, a nonprofit volunteer-based organization that sends care packages to troops deployed overseas, to distribute the phone cards.
Alltel and AT&T will also collect donations of toiletries and other approved items today at the Alltel Wireless store at 4417 13th Ave. S. and at the Alltel store at West Acres, both in Fargo, for inclusion in the next shipment of Operation Gratitude care packages.
Alltel and AT&T will provide a 20-minute phone card for each eligible Alltel subscriber that donates at the collection sites.
