Coleman given the OK to play in NDSU men's basketball game today

Freddy Coleman, who has been sidelined with a knee injury, will play for North Dakota State's men's basketball team in today's 8 p.m. game against UC-Santa Barbara in the second day of the Basketball Travelers Classic in Eugene, Oregon.

According to Bison head coach Saul Phillips, Coleman will play about 10 to 15 minutes.

"He's cleared to go but he's not in quite the shape he wants to be in yet," Phillips said during WDAY's Saturday Morning Sports Show with Jeff Kolpack and Dom Izzo.

Coleman, a 6-foot-3 guard who was sidelined all of last season with an achilles injury, is one of two seniors for NDSU.

The other senior, Michael Tveidt, erupted for 27 points late Friday night when the Bison lost to Oregon 97-92 in overtime. The 6-7 forward made 11 of 21 field goals, 3 of 5 from 3-point ranged, and pulled down 7 rebounds.
