Minnesota high school volleyball tournament: WDC reaches 2A final

ST. PAUL – Brittney Noon recorded 17 kills as Wadena-Deer Creek cruised past Sauk Centre 25-20, 25-17, 25-18 in the semifinals of the Minnesota Class 2A volleyball tournament on Friday.

Undefeated Wadena-Deer Creek (32-0) advances to the championship match against Hutchinson at 3 p.m. today at the Xcel Energy Center.

Hope Theisen led the Wolverines with 13 digs while Emily Miron added 13 kills.

Kali Peschel recorded 10 digs for Sauk Centre.

WDC: Caitlin Volkmann 0-0-1, Crawford 6-1-0, Courtney Volkmann 4-0-2 (39 assists), Noon 17-1-0, Perkins 0-0-1, Craig 1-3-0, Theisen 0-0-1 (13 digs), Jackson 0-0-3, Carlisle 9-2-0, Miron 13-1-0.
