Fargo police investigate strong-arm robberyFARGO – Police here are investigating a case in which mistaken identity may have led to the strong-arm robbery of a man Thursday evening in south Fargo.
The victim told police he was in a parking lot at 2641 15th St. S. when two men approached him. One of the men asked the other if the victim was the person who had assaulted him earlier, Sgt. Mark Lykken said, adding the victim denied having assaulted anyone.
The suspects pushed the victim up to a building, threw him to the ground, kicked him and stole his wallet, which contained his ID and some gift cards, Lykken said. The suspects fled on foot, and police searched the area but couldn’t find them.
The victim, who didn’t appear to be injured, told police he’d never seen the suspects before, Lykken said.
The incident was reported at 6:34 p.m.
