Fargo man accused of assaulting bar patron with beer mugFARGO – A 40-year-old Fargo man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly hit a 63-year-old Moorhead man in the head twice with a beer mug at The Nestor bar in Fargo.
The assault was reported at 3:15 p.m. Fargo police located Ronald Poehler at his home and arrested him on suspicion of aggravated assault and took him to the Cass County Jail, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center, where he received stitches to repair his head wound.
Poehler was allegedly intoxicated, and alcohol was likely a factor in the incident, Lykken said.
