North Dakota names new state epidemiologist

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota has a new state epidemiologist.

Tracy Miller is assuming the role as Kirby Kruger takes on more administrative duties in the state Health Department's medical services section.

Kruger had been the state epidemiologist the past five years, overseeing the surveillance and investigation of diseases in the state. He also is director of the department's disease control division.

Miller joined the department in 1998 as the field epidemiologist in Minot. She was later promoted to a program manager position and most recently has worked as a senior epidemiologist. She's a native of Savage, Mont.
