U.S. attorney for North Dakota to be formally sworn in FridayNorth Dakota’s U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon will be formally sworn in Friday during a ceremony in Bismarck.
President Barack Obama nominated Purdon for the post in February, and Purdon ultimately earned Senate confirmation in August.
He was officially sworn in to the office on Aug. 24, becoming the state’s 18th U.S. attorney.
Friday’s investiture ceremony begins at 3 p.m. in Bismarck’s William L. Guy Federal Courthouse, 220 East Rosser Ave.
Senior District Judge Patrick A. Conmy will administer the oath of office to Purdon, while District Judge Daniel L. Hovland will preside over the ceremony.
