Clay County investigating fire that burned six buildings on abandoned farmstead near Felton, Minn.

FELTON, Minn. – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fire Tuesday that damaged six buildings on an abandoned farmstead near here, Sheriff Bill Bergquist said.

The fire was reported at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday at 110th Street and 210th Avenue North in Clay County, northwest of Felton near the Norman County line.

The abandoned farmhouse, barn, four outbuildings and round hay bales were ablaze when a deputy arrived, Bergquist said.

No burning permits had been issued in that area, and authorities are treating the fire as suspicious, he said.
