Truck driver injured in Jamestown rolloverJAMESTOWN, N.D. – A semi driver was injured Monday when his truck overturned near Jamestown, spilling a load of hot mix onto the roadway.
William J. Steinmetz, 38, of Sheldon, was hauling a load of hot mix from Jamestown to Ashley when the incident happened about 10:45 a.m. Monday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The truck was southbound on the Highway 52 bypass and was turning onto the eastbound on-ramp to Interstate 94 when the truck overturned and lost its load of hot mix on the shoulder and ditch of the on-ramp.
Steinmetz suffered a laceration to his right ear and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Jamestown. He was later transferred to a hospital in Fargo, according to the Highway Patrol.
The hot mix was removed from the roadway by Border States Paving, the Highway Patrol said.
