Fargo man accused of displaying handgun

A Fargo man is accused of possessing a concealed weapon after he allegedly displayed a handgun in view of a man with whom he’d been arguing.

Police were called to the reported disturbance around 2:20 a.m. Monday in the 3900 block of 18th Avenue South.

Sgt. Mark Lykken said 28-year-old Craig Hodek got into an argument at a local bar with a 33-year-old acquaintance from Aberdeen, S.D.

The Aberdeen man told police he was walking home when a car carrying Hodek pulled up next to him, and Hodek got out and began to argue with him. Hodek allegedly went back to the car, retrieved a handgun, gave it to another man, got it back and put it back into the car.

Lykken said it didn’t appear the gun was used in a threatening manner. A Sig Sauer .40-caliber pistol was recovered from the vehicle, and Hodek was arrested on suspicion of concealed weapon possession.
