ND Class A state football semifinals: Milnor-NS gets past Cavalier

CAVALIER, N.D. – Cavalier has never been held to zero points after the first quarter in a game this football season. Nor, for that matter, have the Tornadoes been scoreless after the second and third quarters.

That was before the Tornadoes ran into Milnor-North Sargent.

The Bulldogs’ defense dominated as they handed Cavalier its first loss in 11 games, a 31-14 setback in the semifinals of the North Dakota Class A high school football playoffs.

Milnor-North Sargent will meet Velva in the state championship game at noon Friday in Grand Forks’ Alerus Center.
