Minnesota priest cited in undercover police sting

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Chanhassen priest has resigned after being cited in an undercover police sting at a St. Paul park.

According to a police report, 53-year-old Michael John Krenik exposed himself to an officer in the park Thursday afternoon.

Police cited him for misdemeanor indecent exposure/lewd conduct and released him.

In a written statement, the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis said Krenik had voluntarily resigned and that he would be restricted from all public ministry until the case was resolved.

Krenik was the pastor at St. Hubert Catholic Community. Krenik told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he would prefer not to comment.

Police say three others were also cited in the operation that was in response to citizen complaints about lewd acts.
