Becker County authorities investigate two fires as arsonDETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Two structure fires reported within three minutes of each other and about 2½ miles apart are being investigated as arson, Becker County Sheriff Tim Gordon said.
The fires were reported at about 6:15 a.m. roughly 25 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes.
The first blaze involved a mobile home that was being used for storage just east of the intersection of Becker County highways 37 and 35. The second fire involved an unoccupied hunting/getaway cabin about two miles west of the same intersection, Gordon stated in a news release.
The sheriff’s office considers the fires to be arson, based on physical evidence that’s not being disclosed.

The Carsonville Fire Department was assisted by the Wolf Lake and Elbow/Tulaby fire departments.
