Weekend Watch: Brenda K. Marshall and Jerry Carrier book signings
A pair of area authors celebrate releases of new books with events today. Brenda K. Marshall mined her recollections of growing up on a farm in the Red River Valley for her prairie epic, “Dakota: Or What’s a Heaven For.” Marshall reads from her tale of frontier families, politics and business at 7 tonight at the Plains Art Museum, 704 1st Ave. N., Fargo. (701) 232-3821. At the same time, Mahnomen, Minn., author Jerry Carrier discusses his non-fiction socio-political work “The Making of the Slave Class” at the Moorhead Public Library, 118 5th St. S.
