Hanson considered for Hawley police chief

HAWLEY, Minn. – The Hawley City Council will vote Monday to hire a new police chief.

Glen N. Hanson, a sergeant with the Fargo Police Department, will be recommended for the position, said Lisa Jetvig, clerk treasurer.

The city interviewed three applicants. Only Hanson received a second interview, Jetvig said.

Chief Ernest Rhodes, who had worked for the city for 3½ years, retired Sept. 10, after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

Jetvig said the city would like to have a chief in place by Dec. 1.
