Car strikes moose north of Erskine

ERSKINE, Minn. – A moose was killed Wednesday night when it was hit by a car on Highway 59.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol:

Conrade Strand, 27, of Erskine was heading south on Highway 59 about six miles north of Erskine when he hit a cow moose.

Strand’s 2002 Grand Marquis was totaled. Strand received non-life-threatening injuries and declined ambulance transport to a hospital.

The moose was dead at the scene.

Strand was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
