Poll shows most oppose new Vikings stadiumMINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A new poll shows two-thirds of Minnesotans surveyed are opposed to a new Viking stadium, and even greater number don't want taxpayers to fund one.
The Star Tribune Minnesota poll comes at a critical time. The Minnesota Vikings say the franchise won't renew its Metrodome lease, which expires after the 2011 season.
A poll of 1,206 adults interviewed last week shows 66 percent of respondents want the Vikings to stay in the Metrodome and 75 percent oppose public subsidies for a new stadium.
The latest poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.6 percentage points.
