Program helps farmers address fuel storage

A new pilot program will provide technical and financial assistance for farmers and ranchers in North Dakota affected by spill-prevention regulations, Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., said Thursday.

Up to $3 million in federal funds administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service will help producers develop or update spill prevention plans to avoid and mitigate on-farm spillage of fuels.
