4 businesses fail checks for alcohol complianceFour of 79 businesses failed an alcohol compliance check by area law enforcement agencies last week.
Three metro police agencies, along with the Clay County sheriff’s office and the Safe Communities Coalition, conducted alcohol compliance checks on Friday in Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and Clay County.
Businesses that failed in Fargo were Chili’s Grill & Bar, Red Lobster and The Barnstormer. Dave’s Southside Tap in Moorhead also failed.
In Fargo, businesses failing for the first time in a one-year period are placed on probation for one year and assessed a fine of $500. The penalty may be waived, however, if the server and management have current server training certification. If they fail again within a year, they are assessed a $750 fine.
In Moorhead, businesses that fail for the first time in a one-year period are placed on probation for two years and assessed a $250 fine. If they fail again within those two years, they are assessed a $500 penalty and a one-day suspension of their liquor license.
