Police say 18-year-old Gabriel Dye shot and killed 16-year-old Anne White in front of her mobile home Monday afternoon and then killed himself. Authorities say the two had dated at one time.
School Superintendent Viola LaFontaine says White was popular and active in several activities including choir.
The Williston Herald says the killing of White was the first homicide in the city in four years. Dye was a student at the local college.
