Pembina man held on $1M bail in slayingCAVALIER, N.D. – Bail has been set at $1 million for a Pembina man charged with murder.
The Grand Forks Herald reported that 25-year-old Miguel Medina-Romero appeared in court Monday with his attorney and continues to be held at the Pembina County Jail. Medina-Romero is charged in the shooting death Saturday night of 19-year-old B.J. Kalis of Walhalla.
The Pembina County Sheriff’s Office said Kalis’ body was found outside a residence in Pembina.
Sheriff Brian Erovick has said that authorities had recovered a weapon in the case.
The sheriff’s department said Medina-Romero also faces a felony drug charge after officers found 10 to 12 marijuana plants in his home.
