Excellent care provided at Sanford HealthOn Sept. 16, I entered Sanford Heart Center for open-heart surgery. Considering that this was my first experience with major surgery, I was understandably frightened and nervous.
From the moment the day of surgery began to the time I left the hospital 4½ days later, I was treated with sensitivity, dignity and respect. Every need was seen to by the professional staff of physicians, assistants and nurses. I had great confidence in the excellent surgical team, led by Dr. Roxanne Newman. I was constantly greeted with pleasant attitudes and smiles during all aspects of my care, no matter what the time of day or night.
I would like to give a special “shout out” to Matt, who took exceptional post-surgical care of me while in the intensive care unit (2 East), and to Becca, who took such compassionate care of me while in the cardiac ward (2 South). This superior care has been extended to my cardiac rehabilitation classes.
I consider myself very fortunate to be living in a city that contains a top health care facility and staff and one that takes the care and lives of their patients to “heart”!
