Body of Minnesota soldier to arrive home today

WILLMAR, Minn. – The body of Army Pfc. Ryane Clark is scheduled to arrive at 12:30 p.m. today at Willmar Municipal Airport.

Clark died Oct. 4 while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. According to the Department of Defense, he died in Shekhabad, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades.

A procession escorting Clark’s body will leave the airport at about 1 p.m. and travel through Willmar and Spicer on its way to New London.

The procession will leave the airport and travel east on Minnesota Highway 40 to Willmar, then east through the city. The procession will take Minnesota Highway 23 to Spicer and on to New London.

Clark’s visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the New London-Spicer High School. His funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday in the high school gymnasium.
