Handgun accidentally discharges in Fargo apartmentPolice say no one was hurt when a .357 Magnum revolver accidentally discharged in a south Fargo apartment late Sunday.
The pistol went off when its 28-year-old owner set it down on the bathroom counter at about 11:26 p.m. at 4220 17th Ave. S., Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
The bullet ricocheted off the wall by the counter, hit the closet door in the bathroom and lodged in another bathroom wall, he said.
Alcohol was not a factor in the incident, Lykken said.
The police report will be sent to the city attorney’s office to determine whether the man should be cited for discharging a firearm in city limits, a Class B misdemeanor carrying a $100 fine, he said.
