Fences damaged when pickup drives onto Fargo soccer field, gets stuckFARGO – Police say a pickup damaged two fences and knocked over a street sign as it drove onto a soccer field in north Fargo and got stuck.
Officers were called at 10:38 p.m. to the Johnson Soccer Complex at 1420 11th Ave. N. for a report of a reckless driver.
As they approached the stuck pickup, the driver took off running, Sgt. Glen Hanson said.
Officers caught the suspect, who allegedly fought with an officer and struggled as he was put in handcuffs, Hanson said.
Travis Matheny, 21, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of preventing arrest, fleeing the scene of an accident and possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. Police also are recommending charges of criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and DUI, Hanson said.
