45-year-old woman faces felony assault charge in Moorhead incidentMOORHEAD – A 45-year-old woman who was being removed from a Moorhead bar early Sunday faces a felony assault charge, accused of kicking an officer in the groin as she was being handcuffed.
According to a complaint filed against Cheryl Lynne Plante on Monday in Clay County District Court, cops were called to the American Legion in Moorhead at about 12:50 a.m. to escort out an intoxicated woman.
Plante, of Fargo, couldn’t walk or stand on her own and was being taken to the Clay County Detox Center when she kicked Officer Nicholas Wiedenmeyer in the groin, the complaint alleges.
She was transported to the Clay County Jail and is charged with fourth-degree assault of a peace officer and disorderly conduct.
Plante bailed out following an initial court appearance on Monday.
