New Town man sentenced for child sex crime

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A New Town man who pleaded guilty to a child sex crime has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 49-year-old Anthony White Owl will be on supervised release for five years following his prison term and also must register as a sex offender.

White Owl was accused of having sexual contact with a girl while a guest at a residence on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in February. He pleaded guilty in June to a charge of abusive sexual contact.
