Berg, Pomeroy debate for first time Monday on public TVNorth Dakota’s U.S. House candidates will finally go head-to-head Monday night in their first planned debate of the campaign season.
Democratic-NPL incumbent Rep. Earl Pomeroy and Republican Fargo legislator Rick Berg will meet for a taped debate Monday at Prairie Public Broadcasting’s downtown Fargo studios.
The debate will air at 8 p.m. Tuesday on Prairie Public TV statewide and will be re-broadcast before Election Day.
Previously, Berg and Pomeroy had been quarreling for weeks over the issue of debates – with both saying they welcomed the opportunity to discuss the issues and accusing the other of ducking.
The candidates have mutually agreed to participate in at least two other scheduled debates this month.
