Motorcyclist hurt in 45th Street accident in Fargo

A second motorcycle accident in Fargo in less than 24 hours sent a man to the hospital with injuries Friday afternoon.

The accident happened about 2:30 p.m. in the intersection of 45th Street and Seventh Avenue South.

The driver of the motorcycle was northbound on 45th Street South and was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Seventh Avenue when he collided with a pickup heading south on 45th Street, said police Sgt. Kevin Volrath.

The intersection is not controlled by a stop sign or stop light.

“The details are still pretty sketchy,” Volrath said at the scene.

The motorcyclist was taken to Essentia Hospital by ambulance.

Volrath said he did not know the extent of the motorcyclist’s injuries, but witnesses at the scene said the injuries were serious.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.

Volrath cautions drivers to be aware of motorcyclists who are still on the roads enjoying the fall weather.
