10th Street underpass at Main in Fargo to close Monday for drainage pipe fixFARGO - A lane of the 10th Street underpass at Main Avenue in Fargo will be closed at 10 a.m. Monday as construction crews inspect and attempt to repair a damaged drainage pipe, the North Dakota Department of Transportation stated in a news release.
The 48-inch sewer pipeline is meant to help store and drain water during a heavy rainstorm or flood, said Kevin Gorder, NDDOT assistant district engineer.
During a reconstruction of the underpass this summer, the pipe was probably damaged by a piece of heavy equipment, he said.
“The source and cost of the damage is still unknown,” Gorder said. “We are going to try and fix the problem with as little impact on traffic as possible.”
The damage was discovered when crews snaked a camera through the pipes for a final inspection, according to the release.
