UPDATED: Milnor, N.D., woman dies in head-on crash near Gwinner

GWINNER, N.D. – A Milnor woman died and a Lisbon woman was injured when a car and pickup collided head-on this morning north of Gwinner.

Sargent County Sheriff Travis Paeper said the crash was reported at 7:16 a.m. on Highway 32 near the border of Sargent and Ransom counties.

The northbound 2000 Saturn car was en route from rural Milnor to Lisbon when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the southbound 2005 Ford pickup, the North Dakota Highway Patrol stated in a news release.

The car’s 37-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup’s 40-year-old driver was taken to the Lisbon hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Their names are expected to be released later today, the release stated.

The crash remains under investigation.

Highway 32 was closed for about three hours as a result of the crash.
