Jamestown teen dies in rolloverOne Jamestown teenager is dead after a rollover accident that was discovered Sunday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The rollover was reported at 8:18 a.m. Sunday and occurred at 4075 6th Ave. NW, just north of the Stutsman County fairgrounds, said Lt. Bruce Judd of the Jamestown Police Department, supervisor at the Law Enforcement Center dispatch. The vehicle was found in a soybean field, according to the patrol.
The vehicle was traveling north on Sixth Avenue Northwest and failed to negotiate a curve, said Trooper Ben Kennelly, of the patrol. It rolled multiple times, and the driver and single passenger were ejected from the vehicle sometime around 1 a.m., he said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was airlifted to a Fargo hospital. Kennelly said is unknown whether it was the passenger or driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The names and ages of the driver and passenger were not released Sunday because both are minors, Kennelly said.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call, but the North Dakota Highway Patrol took over the investigation.
The crash is under investigation.
