Public comments sought for Hamden Slough planDETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Hamden Slough National Wildlife Refuge is hosting an open house from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 7 in the upstairs meeting room at the Detroit Lakes Public Library to hear comments on the refuge’s comprehensive conservation plan.
Refuge staff and regional planning staff will be available to discuss the planning process and to hear ideas on future refuge management.
Located near Detroit Lakes, the 3,170-acre refuge was established in 1989 to protect and restore the area located between flat tallgrass prairies and rolling hardwoods.
