Former current Minnesota state auditors spar over investigationsST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Former Minnesota State Auditor Pat Anderson is accusing current State Auditor Rebecca Otto of falsely claiming to be "three times as productive" as Anderson was.
The Republican former auditor filed a complaint against the Democratic incumbent with the Office of Administrative Hearings on Thursday. Anderson is challenging Otto for her old job back after Otto defeated her in 2006.
Anderson's complaint alleges that Otto falsely claims that Anderson did only 10 investigations while in office between 2003 and 2007, compared to more than 30 for Otto. Anderson says she conducted at least 28 investigations.
Otto says the complaint is "political theater" and says Anderson may be confusing press releases with investigations.
