Bismarck man sentenced for luring over Internet

FARGO (AP) — A Bismarck man has been sentenced to a year in prison for using a computer and text messages to attempt to lure a 15-year-old girl for sex.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that 26-year-old Luis (loo-EES') Jaime (HY'-may) Hernandez pleaded guilty in June to felony luring a minor by computer or electronic means. South Central District Judge Tom Schneider sentenced him on Wednesday.

Hernandez was accused of sending text and computer messages to a 15-year-old girl, asking her to have sex with him. The girl told school officials, who called police.

Burleigh County Assistant State's Attorney Pam Nesvig says Hernandez attempted to speak with numerous minor girls in chat rooms. Hernandez told authorities he was doing so only to improve his grasp of English.
