Racial, ethnic bias hearings set next weekThe North Dakota Supreme Court Commission to study Racial and Ethnic Bias in the Courts will conduct public hearings from 1 to 4:15 p.m. Monday at the Cankdeska Cikana Community College in Fort Totten and from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Turtle Mountain Community College in Belcourt.
The commission wants to hear about personal experiences of racial or ethnic bias in the North Dakota court system.
A panel of commission members will be available to take testimony and answer questions from the public. Members include justices of the North Dakota Supreme Court, district court judges, court officials and attorneys practicing throughout the state.
Participants who provide testimony can remain anonymous.
