Mom getaway driver sentenced to 120 days

A woman who helped her son with a burglary of the Dilworth VFW was sentenced Monday for her role in the December incident.

Jogenia Franklin, 43, Dilworth, will serve 120 days in jail and three years of supervised probation for the conviction of fleeing in a motor vehicle.

Charges of aiding and abetting burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary were dismissed.

Court records say Louis Sky Franklin and Brian William Paddack smashed a glass door at the VFW and broke open the ATM. The machine had $8,200 before the incident and was left with $6,680.

Louis Franklin jumped into a car driven by Jogenia Franklin, his mother, and a police chase ensued.

Jogenia Franklin was the final defendant to be sentenced. She also was ordered to pay one-third of about $4,000 in restitution
