Fargo commission to discuss Deer Creek Addition tonightThe Fargo City Commission will get a second chance tonight to decide on whether to approve the Deer Creek Addition in southwest Fargo.
Commissioners asked developers at the Sept. 6 meeting to include a bike trail along the Sheyenne River that was in the original plans but scrapped because of river bank instability.
Planning and engineering staff told the commission that study of the riverbank showed it was too unstable to remove trees to make room for the path.
Making room for the path would force developers to move already planned lots, city planner Jim Hinderaker said.
The city’s almost $206 million budget is also up for public comment tonight.
The commission meeting starts tonight at 5 in the commission chambers at Fargo’s City Hall.
