Ceremony on Sunday to honor Guard soldiersA Freedom Salute ceremony for about 300 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who served in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with their families, is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Urban Plains Center, 5225 31st Ave. S., Fargo.
The soldiers being honored served with the 231st Maneuver Task Force from the 231st Brigade Support Battalion in Valley City. They mobilized in August 2009 and returned in May and July this year.
Among Sunday’s speakers will be Gov. John Hoeven and Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota adjutant general.
The event is open to the public.
