Two accused of robbing man who paid for rideTwo men face conspiracy to commit robbery charges, accused in Cass County District Court of jumping a fellow bar patron who paid them $20 for a ride home.
Leroy Esquire Manning and Ahmed Haji Madi are both charged in connection with the July 19 incident in Fargo, in which police say the two men and an as-yet-unidentified third person made off with $2,500.
The alleged victim told police he was drinking at The Windbreak Saloon on July 19 when three men offered to give him a ride home in his car so he didn’t have to leave it at the bar.
Immediately after he was dropped off, three men hit him from behind and demanded his money, the alleged victim told police.
Ryan Younggren, an assistant Cass County state’s attorney, said investigators are still trying to identify the third man.
Manning was arrested on Tuesday and made his first court appearance Wednesday, where bail was set at $20,000 cash or bond.
Younggren said he’s filed charges against Haji Madi, but they don’t show up yet in online court records.
Haji Madi told police he wasn’t involved, according to court documents.
