Huntington’s golf event successfulThe Huntington’s Disease Northern Prairie Advocates (a charitable fund within Dakota Medical Foundation) thanks everyone who helped make the Friends of Huntington’s Golf Classic a great success. While the hot, humid day was not ideal, 120 golfers plus additional family and friends who participated in the banquet and silent auction made for a successful day at Oxbow Country Club.
We are appreciative of those businesses that generously sponsored the event, including Sanford Health, Gate City Bank, First International Investments, Flint Communication, Pyle Farms, Dawson Insurance, Legacy Wealth Builders, The Barnstormer and Sylvan Learning Center; those who sponsored holes, including Winnifred Brown, Sylvan Jerry Miedema, Brad Derrig, Jerod Guida, Dale Anderson and Lucille Winkler; as well as many others who contributed items for the silent auction.
A special thank-you to Chris and Tania Poyzer’s family and friends for their inspiration in initiating the event and their dedication to making the golf classic very successful.
Huntington’s disease is a genetic brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treatment or cure. HD slowly diminishes an individual’s ability to walk, think, talk and reason
Every dollar raised will remain in the region to help the Huntington’s Disease NPA educate and provide for the needs of patients and their caregivers, provide support groups, identify individuals with HD, provide education and training to medical and long-term care professionals, and advocate for HD locally, statewide and nationally.
