Highway Patrol releases name of crash victim

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a 58-year-old woman from Mapleton, N.D., killed in a four-vehicle accident Monday night on Interstate 94 just west of West Fargo.

Alice Wagner was a passenger in a 1998 Ford Explorer SUV that was westbound in the right lane when a 2007 Toyota Corolla in the left lane swerved into the Explorer, sending it across the median and into eastbound traffic, the patrol said in a news release.

The Explorer sideswiped an eastbound semi and crashed head-on into a Chevy Suburban. The two SUVs came to rest in the grass south of the eastbound lane.

The Explorer’s driver, Steven Wagner, 58, of Mapleton, was taken to Innovis Health in Fargo.

The Suburban’s driver, Sean Magee, 45, of Lennox, S.D., and his passenger, Jean Magee, 44, also of Lennox, were also taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Corolla, 23-year-old Andrew Mark of West Fargo, and the semi’s driver, a 38-year-old man from Vancouver, Wash., were not injured.

It was raining at the time of the crash and the roadway was wet, the patrol said. The crash remains under investigation.

The Explorer and Suburban were totaled. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to the Corolla and $15,000 to the semi.

The accident happened about 7:07 p.m. near mile marker 342.
