Pawlenty to attend funeral for Minn. Marine, flags ordered at half staff todayPINE CITY, Minn. (AP) — Gov. Tim Pawlenty has ordered that all Minnesota and U.S. flags be lowered to half staff today in honor of a fallen Marine from Minnesota.
He's Master Sgt. Daniel Fedder, who was killed by a roadside bomb Aug 27. The 34-year-old Fedder was a highly decorated Marine bomb disposal technician. The 16-year corps veteran was previously deployed to Iraq in 2004 and 2006.
The funeral be held at 10 a.m. today at the Pine City National Guard Armory. It's open to the public. Pawlenty plans to attend.
Fedder will be buried in Pine City.
