Prosecutors appeal in Fargo child porn caseFederal prosecutors say they will appeal a judge’s ruling on restitution in a Fargo child pornography case.
U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson sentenced Robert Scheiring in June to 14 years in prison on charges of distribution and possession of child pornography. Authorities say they found more than 600,000 pictures and 2,400 videos of child porn.
Erickson denied a government request to pay back two victims portrayed in pornographic images on Scheiring’s computer. Prosecutors had asked for total restitution of nearly $3.7 million.
