Pomeroy display raises questions at NDSUFARGO (AP) — Republicans and Democrats are at odds over a display about Rep. Earl Pomeroy at a North Dakota State University student club fair.
The booth sponsored by NDSU College Republicans Tuesday included a cardboard cutout of Pomeroy's face with clear PVC pipe sticking out of his mouth. Some students poured red Kool-Aid into the pipe to represent the increase in government debt because of policies allegedly supported by Pomeroy.
The North Dakota Federation of College Republicans says Pomeroy's campaign called NDSU and asked that the group take down their booth.
Pomeroy spokesman Brenden Timpe says several Pomeroy supporters complained about the display, so the campaign asked NDSU officials to check into it.
Timpe says no one asked to have the booth removed.
