Weekend Watch: Tuff Hedeman Championship Bull Riding
If Gaslight Anthem is a good name for a band, Tuff Hedeman is the perfect name for a bull rider. Richard Hedeman earned the nickname as a dominant rodeo star from the mid-1980s until retiring in 1999, including having his face smashed in ’95 by the notorious bull Bodacious. Though he was instrumental in getting the Professional Bull Riders off the ground, he left in 2004 and started Championship Bull Riding, which lets it fly at Dakota Magic Casino in Hankinson, N.D., at 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $10 to $50, with children 5 and younger admitted for free. (800) 325-6825.
