Conrad to lead housing conference in Fargo on TuesdayFARGO – State and federal leaders will join more than 500 housing and community leaders Tuesday in Fargo for the kickoff of the 2010 Sustainable Homes and Communities Conference.
North Dakota Sen. Kent Conrad will open the conference with an informational session at 9 a.m. Joining him will be Housing and Urban Development Regional Administrator Rick Garcia, USDA Rural Development Housing Commissioner Tammye Trevino and USDA Rural Development State Director Jasper Schneider.
“This conference will bring together representatives from local, state and federal agencies to provide up-to-date training for housing and community development partners throughout the nation,” Conrad said in a statement. “Our goal is to foster partnerships that fuel creative solutions to our housing challenges.”
The three-day conference is Tuesday through Thursday and will cover multiple program disciplines including: single-family and multifamily housing, community development, public housing, fair housing, and Native American programs.
