Groundbreaking held for Williston subdivisionWILLISTON, N.D. – A new subdivision in Williston will provide housing for about 250 families.
Officials celebrated the groundbreaking Thursday for the Granite Peak Subdivision, which includes land for 84 single-family homes, 84 twin homes and a 100-plus-unit apartment complex, according to a news release.
“We appreciate working with the Granite Peak team and the city of Williston through our state agencies to help build quality housing for the community,” Gov John Hoeven said in a statement.
“This will really help us address the tremendous housing shortage that we are experiencing,” Williston Mayor Ward Koeser said in the statement.
Granite Peak Development LLC is a real estate developer in Casper and Cheyenne, Wyo.
North Dakota Operations Manager Terry Metzler said the first families will be able to move in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The project is expected to be complete by late spring or mid-summer 2011.
