Driver in car-ambulance crash out of hospitalThe driver of a car that struck an ambulance Aug. 14 on County Highway 34 in White Earth, Minn., has been released from the hospital.
Sheena Marie Butcher, 28, of Ponsford, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix when it drifted across the center line, sideswiping the ambulance’s cab and hitting the van portion of the vehicle, according to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.
Butcher’s unborn child died that day as a result of the crash, according to a death notice and the sheriff’s office.
A spokeswoman at St. Mary’s Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes, Minn., said Wednesday that Butcher had been released from the hospital, but she didn’t know when. Three passengers in the car were discharged earlier.
The ambulance driver and an EMT assistant weren’t injured in the crash, and there were no patients in the ambulance at the time.
