Enrollment drops slightly in Fargo School District

FARGO - The Fargo School District reported an enrollment of 10,331 on Tuesday, a slight decrease from the 10,370 reported in 2009.

The strongest growth was in buildings south of Interstate 94, a release from the district stated. Bennett Elementary enrollment increased from 558 to 607, while Kennedy Elementary enrollment increased from 590 to 614.

Schools north of Main Avenue again showed a decline in enrollment. Elementary schools lost 25 students, Ben Franklin 26 students and North High 53 students.

Schools between Main Avenue and I-94 showed some decline, with elementary schools losing 17 students and Carl Ben Eielson nine students.

Following are enrollment numbers reported Tuesday by school:

North High: 1027 on Tuesday compared to 1080 in 2009.

South High: 1579 on Tuesday compared to 1574 in 2009.

South Campus II: 549 on Tuesday compared to 518 in 2009.

Ben Franklin: 730 on Tuesday compared to 756 in 2009.

Carl Ben Eielson: 784 on Tuesday compared to 793 in 2009.

Discovery: 831 on Tuesday compared to 854 in 2009.

Woodrow Wilson: 71 on Tuesday compared to 75 in 2009.

Bennett: 607 on Tuesday compared to 558 in 2009.

Centennial: 590 on Tuesday compared to 581 in 2009.

Clara Barton/Hawthorne: 346 on Tuesday compared to 338 in 2009.

Horace Mann/Roosevelt: 321 on Tuesday compared to 320 in 2009.

Jefferson: 350 on Tuesday compared to 368 in 2009.

Kennedy: 614 on Tuesday compared to 590 in 2009.

Lewis and Clark: 444 on Tuesday compared to 434 in 2009.

Lincoln: 454 on Tuesday compared to 471 in 2009.

Longfellow: 348 on Tuesday compared to 337 in 2009.

Madison: 198 on Tuesday compared to 208 in 2009.

McKinley: 189 on Tuesday compared to 192 in 2009.

Washington: 299 on Tuesday compared to 323 in 2009.
